During the 3rd 6 weeks the 1st and 2nd grades will continue transferring data to charts and graphs. We will study place value, adding and subtracting with regrouping, estimation, and rounding numbers. Our fact practice each day will emphasize strategies that do not require counting on our fingers, along with memorization of addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts.
Look for their writing journal to come home once a week and help them edit their original stories. It is important that they learn how to spot misspelled words, the need for capital letters, and correct punctuation. More attention should be given to neatness and correct letter formation.
In Social Studies we will study how our world has changed in view of transportation and communication.
